Fury, 30, and Warren teamed up with legendary promoter Bob Arum which will see the Gypsy King box on ESPN in the US.
Deontay Wilder claimed he is a free-agent in terms of broadcaster which led to Arum sending the WBC champion a deal to fight Fury – however, last night the WBC confirmed the rematch will not happen next.
In the latest U-turn, Warren told talkSPORT that ESPN are adamant Fury must take an interim fight in the US by September or October – meaning the Wilder rematch could be shelved until next year.
Warren said: “It's not our doing. ESPN and Top Rank want to give Tyson an exposure fight in the States first and then have the Wilder fight afterwards.
“It's unfortunate but we're hoping to get a fight in September or October.”
Wilder could now turn his attention to WBC mandatory challenger Dominic Breazeale – who Dillian Whyte was ordered to face – leaving the Brixton brawler in limbo.
For Fury, he could find himself returning to the ring against an ESPN stablemate – with Bryant Jennings, WBA ‘regular’ champion Manuel Charr and Joseph Parker all on this list.
Last night Wilder vented his anger at the announcement Fury, who the American drew with in controversial style in December, would fight elsewhere – labelling the Brit a “sorry muthaf*****””.
Wilder said: “You sorry muthaf*****. You requested a warm- up fight first. I don’t blame you though, I probably would too if I saw my brains splashed all over the canvas.”
Fury, responded: "Get your self a bit more well known in America first kid & then I’ll give you another chance!
"I already beat you & the world knows it & so do you? must be hard for you that a British fighter has taken over the USA ??? watch me whippppp #ONLYINAMERICA @espn"
