Fulham trying to offload Kamara 'as soon as possible' after training ground arrest for security guard bust-up

Kamara was taken into custody by police on Monday on suspicion of actual bodily harm following a bust-up with a security guard while trying to confront club chief Alistair Mackintosh.

The club had been attempting to offload the 23-year-old after manager Claudio Ranieri decided he did not play a part in his plans for the future of the side.

And the Standard say Fulham remain hopeful they will still be able to reach an agreement which would see Kamara leave Craven Cottage before the transfer window closes next week.

Turkish club Yeni Malatyaspor had shown an interest in signing the Frenchman over the past few weeks.

And the club's president Adil Gevrek even made the trip to London in an attempt to thrash out terms over securing the move before the end of January.

Now the Premier League strugglers are attempting to ensure the off-field problems do not put off Malatyaspor from going through with the transfer.

Kamara is currently banned indefinitely from the club's Motspur Park training ground to keep him away from the first team.

Boss Ranieri is trying to focus on making the changes needed to give the side a chance of scrambling clear of relegation trouble at the foot of the Premier League.

The Italian had already banished the controversial player to train with the Under-23 side following a series of problems behind the scenes.

Ranieri had blasted his player in public for having no respect when he refused to let Aleksandar Mitrovic take a late penalty in the relegation clash with Huddersfield.

Then Kamara and Mitrovic were involved in a fight during a yoga session, which further upset the manager.

Fulham are continuing to help police in their inquiries while Kamara was released from custody while investigations continued.
