FLOYD MAYWEATHER did try and knock out Logan Paul but the YouTuber was 'too big' and used 'ugly' tactics.
That is the verdict from the American legend's uncle Jeff, a former champion who now trains boxers and MMA fighters in Las Vegas.
Paul, 26, claimed a surprise moral victory as he avoided a KO defeat and survived the full eight-round distance in their exhibition bout.
Some speculated whether Mayweather, 44, pulled his punches to ensure maximum entertainment and value for money on pay-per-view.
But even his own uncle recognised that Paul's TWO STONE weight advantage was too much to overcome for the retired icon.
Jeff, 56, said on The Champ and The Chump podcast: “I think he wanted to knock him out, of course, but he couldn’t. The guy was too big.
"He did so much holding and you know was strong enough to take those shots, and as soon as he got hit, he locked up, so that made the fight a little ugly.
“I still think if Floyd was younger, he would have knocked him out.”
Mayweather, who boasted that his $100million exhibition was a 'legalised bank robbery', had promised to KO Paul, who is still 0-1 as a professional.
But Jeff admitted he expected the fight to go the full stretch, due to the weight and age gap between them.

He explained: “I thought what happened could have happened because nobody else was thinking that the age, 44, was gonna show up.
"Plus, Logan Paul had Floyd about 6 inches in height, probably about 40 lbs in weight.
"And he still an athlete, he was a wrestler, so I mean, don’t get me wrong and also he did a lot of holding – a whole lot.
“All of that played a part. I think the biggest part is that people have the tendency to forget that Floyd’s not superman.
"He’s still an athlete, but he’s not the same one that you see now.
"He’s 44 years old, he still did great for entertainment but I think a lot of people were disappointed because everyone thought there was going to be a knockout.”
