London football agency who manage Premier League clients scramble to destroy data after office was broken into in motorcycle ram-raid

  • New Era Global Sports’ south London office was broken into on Sunday morning
  • The agency manage the likes of Michael Keane, Chris Wilder and Mick McCarthy
  • Efforts were made to wipe their database immediately following the burglary 
  • Enquiries continue after a motorbike was used to force entry into the building  

A leading football management agency, who include England international Michael Keane as a client, have been forced to wipe a section of their database after a burglary at their HQ. New Era Global Sports were the victims of a break in at their offices in south London.

The burglary took place in the early hours of Sunday, September 29. No arrests have been made as Metropolitan Police officers continue with their enquiries. 

The thieves, who ram-raided their way into the property on Hardwidge Street, near London Bridge, left with an Apple Mac computer, raising concerns that confidential data about the company and clients could fall into the wrong hands.

The agency instructed the external IT company who deal with their computer network to immediately erase all the data that existed on the stolen system in order to safeguard any information that might have been left exposed.

Everton defender Keane is one of New Era’s star clients. Their roster also includes Norwich’s Ben Godfrey, Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder and Republic of Ireland boss Mick McCarthy. Manchester United and England legend Rio Ferdinand is an advisor.

The agency also manage Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder as police enquiries continue 

A police spokesperson said: ‘Police were called at 02:13hrs on Sunday, 29 September to reports of a burglary in Hardwidge Street, SE1.

‘Entry was gained by the front door being rammed with a motorcycle. A computer was reported stolen. Enquiries continue.’
