England troll fans with new jersey inspired by 'white noise'… but fans might be more upset by outrageous £95 price tag

In an embarrassing clanger, the RFU said the plain white shirt was inspired by the "white noise… created by the sound of England supporters cheering the team on."

But white noise is what people use to send them to SLEEP as it soothes them into a slumber!

In a bizarre and bonkers launch of the new Canterbury strip, Red Rose spin doctors said: "The design of the shirt takes inspiration from ‘white noise’, the effect created by the sound of England supporters cheering the team on.

"The design, which creates a disruptive and textured effect, uses a variety of St George’s crosses, reflecting patriotism and incorporates platinum and titanium colours symbolising the strength of those metals."

Eddie Jones' side will wear the stash for the first time against South Africa on November 3.

England women will also wear the same kits for their autumn campaign.

Though, hilariously, England also said that the kit is also inspired by: "The England team’s training techniques, which enable the players to tackle the unexpected during the game."

Erm… remember the 2017 Six Nations, anyone?

Yes, that's right, when skipper Dylan Hartley and James Haskell were embarrassed on a global stage as they asked ref Romain Poite to tell them the rules as they couldn't cope with Italy's sneaky "no-ruck" tactics.

England captain, Hartley, who is also a Canterbury ambassador, added: “Every player in the squad is proud to represent England, put on the jersey and wear the rose so it’s great to see that English pride is reflected in the kit design.

"Every time we pull on the shirt we want to go out there, give it our all and make sure that we are constantly working hard and improving our performance.

"It gives us real confidence knowing we are wearing the best possible kit.”

The huge price tag on the kit may also come as a sucker punch to England fans.

With the full strip costing £95, fans who wish to dress like their international idols won't be left with much change.
