College football teams that own their rivals

In this week’s edition of College Football Fan Index, we want to determine which college football team is the king of its rivalry game. You can announce your choice on social media to help your team prevail this week and join recent winners Georgia, Clemson and Central Michigan.

Here are four favorites to win in Week 5.

Ohio State

There was a time when Michigan owned “The Game,” and the Wolverines still lead the overall series comfortably, but this matchup has been all Buckeyes for the last 15 years. Ohio State has won 13 of its last 14 against Michigan, though the Buckeyes’ 37-7 win in 2010 was later vacated. Michigan will be a big underdog in Columbus later this year.

Utah

Whether it’s the Holy War with BYU, the Battle of the Brothers with Utah State, or the Rumble In the Rockies with Colorado, Utah has been dominant in recent years. Since 2012, Utah is a combined 12-2 against their three biggest rivals.

Oklahoma

The Bedlam series typically produces some wild games, but the Sooners usually prevail. Oklahoma State has just two wins since 2003, and the Sooners lead the overall series 87-18-7.

When it comes to the Red River Showdown with Texas, Oklahoma has won two straight and six of the last eight.

Boston College

Boston College and UMass haven’t met on an annual basis since 1982, but the rivalry has been reignited in six games since 2004. The Eagles have won 10 consecutive games against the Minutemen, a winning streak that dates back to 1979.
