Clint Frazier won’t make it back to the big leagues this year.
Frazier was recently examined by Dr. Micky Collins, a Pittsburgh neurologist and sent back to Tampa to begin working out.
“I would say it’s unlikely,’’ Frazier makes it back this season, manager Aaron Boone said before the Yankees’ 8-2 loss to the A’s Wednesday night.
Frazier, who is on the big-league DL with post-concussion migraines, was in the process of being moved to Trenton when he was examined by Collins.
“We are trying to hone in and get the best program in place we can for him to start getting him back on the right track for good,’’ Boone said of Frazier, who suffered a concussion early in spring training. He appeared in 15 big-league games and hit .265. “It’s been a year of trying to get our hands around exactly what is going on and trying to get him moving in the right direction.’’
