After decommiting from Georgia, it always seemed like a matter of time before John Emery Jr. picked another SEC power. On Tuesday he finally pulled the trigger for in-state LSU, changing the dynamic of the SEC recruiting rankings in the process.
The Destrehan (La.) High School senior stands 5-foot-11, 206 pounds and is a powerful box of a breakout player. He's considered one of the top-three running back prospects in the Class of 2019 and is just outside the top 20 overall recruits in the class, per 247Sports' national rankings.
Perhaps more importantly, he's a USA TODAY Chosen 25 recruit, marking him out as one of the nation's top 25 recruits regardless of position.
