Cheltenham Festival 2019: Lalor all set for Lightning Novices' Chase as Woollacott eyes Arkle glory

Kayley Woollacott's exciting prospect is a general 5-1 favourite for the Grade 1 contest in March.

A sensational winner of a very competitive novice chase at Cheltenham back in November, the son of It's Gino floundered in soft ground when upped to Grade 1 company last time out.

However, conditions were miserable at the Esher track that day and Woollacott believes good ground is the key to her stable star.

With few opportunities left between now and Cheltenham, a trip to Doncaster looks on the cards for the classy seven-year-old.

Woollacott told At The Races: "Lalor is very, very well and all being well he'll go to Doncaster for the Lightning Novices' Chase.

"He was electric at Cheltenham in November, he was absolutely mega. In hindsight it was a mistake to go to Sandown (for the Henry VIII).

"Hopefully we’ll see the same horse that we saw at Cheltenham back on better ground.

"Fingers crossed he’ll be fit and in flying form.
