Carl Frampton shocks commuters on New York subway by pulling pal’s trousers down in front of women on busy train

And a video of the controversial incident sparked an equally-frosty response on Twitter after the boxer's OWN PROMOTER Frank Warren posted it as Frampton "having fun".

The Northern Ireland star has lifted two world title belts – but might feel silly when he reflects on dropping his pal's.

One stony-faced woman sitting opposite Frampton reacted by getting up and standing with her back to him, before getting off the train.

Another woman turned her head in apparent distaste and shifted away uncomfortably in her seat.

And the only person who seemed to enjoy the stunt was a seated man who grinned as he turned towards the camera.

In contrast, the official Frank Warren account used the incident to PROMOTE Frampton's upcoming IBF featherweight world title shot.

Frampton takes on crown-holder Josh Warrington, from Leeds, at Manchester Arena on December 22.

And Warren tweeted beneath the trouser-downing video: "@RealCFrampton is having fun on his stateside trip ?.

"He’ll be hoping he can embarrass @J_Warrington in the ring on December 22nd."

But one woman replied: "Technically flashing and disgusting behaviour from a man who should know better and set an example to the younger generation and his adoring fans."

Other responses included: "In case you did not realise it. No one on the train found it funny" … "Making the women on the train feel uncomfortable.. nice" .. and "Shameful act."

Another person noted: "The woman was like 'I'm outta here'. Not cool guys!"

And one man tweeted with a question many might have been pondering.

He said: "Not even funny really, not even sure why you would tweet it, the only people embarrassed are the other passengers."

Some fans. though, thought it was a harmless or "hilarious" jape.

And reacting to the negative response from subway passengers, one man responded: "Americans have 0 humour. That's why."
