Liz Cambage made a perfect start and the Australian Opals followed as they locked in a place in the quarterfinals of the FIBA Women’s World Cup in Tenerife, Spain on Tuesday night.
The Opals faced off with Turkey for top spot in their group and direct entry to the final eight and Cambage made her first 11 shots as Australia killed off the game before halftime en route to a 90-64 win and a 3-0 record from their group games.

Cambage finished with 25 points on 11 of 13 shooting in just 18 minutes as Opals coach Sandy Brondello spread the minutes across her side in the second half giving much-needed game time to the likes of Ezi Magbegor, Alex Bunton, Tessa Lavey and Alanna Smith.
Rebecca Allen added 13 points, Cayla George 12 points and Sami Whitcomb 11 points.
The Opals will have Wednesday off as teams who finished in second and third place in their groups fight it out for places in the final eight before the knockout quarterfinals begin on Friday.
The Opals won’t know their game time and opponent until after Wednesday’s play-in games.
