Burnley want Everton’s Yannick Bolasie on loan – but Toffees seek permanent deal

Burnley are trying to sign Everton winger Yannick Bolasie.

Sean Dyche has targeted the former Crystal Palace man who is available for transfer two years after moving to Goodison Park for £28million.

Bolasie, 29, was signed for Everton by Ronald Koeman in a shock £25m move.

But he suffered cruciate ligament damage in his side’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United on 4 December 2016, an injury which needed two operations.

On his return last season he struggled to recapture his form under Sam Allardyce.

Burnley want to sign Bolasie on loan but Everton have so far refused the temporary arrangement as they see the Clarets as a rival.

Palace want a reunion with Bolasie on loan and have so far been monitoring developments.

But Everton have so far been unwilling to do business as they don’t want to end up with egg on their faces if the winger goes back to his former club and rediscovers his best form.

The situation regarding both clubs chasing the player could change ahead of today’s deadline if they make an offer acceptable to Everton.

Should Burnley succeed, however, it would mean Bolasie would not have to move house and would have the chance to play in the Europa League this season.
