Blue Christmas: Everton kid gets early gift from Richarlison.. and a matching haircut

Surprising the teenage supporter at Cut Throat Pete's barbershop, the little lad was left lost for words, before he then discovered he and his family were being sent to Disneyland Paris.

It's been a tough year for season ticket holder Dominic, 14, after his grandfather Stuart passed away, while also being separated from his younger brother Kieran, who has been placed in a residential home to help with his difficulties.

He was nominated for the Blue Crimbo surprise by his dad Paul, and turned up to the barbers believing his father had won a free haircut.

But he was left speechless when greeted by his favourite player, before the Brazilian then played Dominic a video message where Seamus Coleman told him about Disneyland.

Speaking of the surprise, he said: "I’m really happy how my hair has turned out. I’ve wanted to get it done like Richarlison’s anyway so it’s great.

“I just thought it was a regular haircut. When Richi turned around, I thought I was in the wrong place! I didn’t realise it was all for me.

“I thought I was dreaming and then when I heard about going to Disneyland with my family, I just thought this can’t be true, I must still be sleeping.

“None of my friends will believe me that I’ve met Richarlison. It’s very special.

“Obviously I won’t have my brother home for Christmas but to meet Richarlison, my favourite footballer, is just a dream.”

While a jubilant Richarlison – who even took part in the trim – said: "It was an honour to spend time with Dominic and his family and hopefully give them a bit of a lift this Christmas.

"I know they have had a difficult year and I feel very inspired by the strength they have shown as a family.

“I loved that Dominic wanted his hair just like mine. Pete did a great job and I think Dominic looks really cool."

Blue Crimbo is now in its seventh year, where the campaign aims to give the most deserving Evertonians a joyous occasion over the festive period.
