The 31-year-old Chilean will put pen to paper on a three-year deal once he has passed his medical.
A club statement read: "FC Barcelona and FC Bayern Munich have reached an agreement for the transfer of player Arturo Vidal.
"The agreement is for the next three seasons and is pending the medical examination that the player will undertake over the course of the next few days.
"FC Barcelona will shortly inform everyone about the arrival of the player and the agenda of the presentation ceremony."
SunSport reported yesterday that it is believed the Chilean international will move to the Nou Camp for around £27million.
The Chilean midfielder, who has also been linked with Manchester United and Chelsea in the past, is believed to have been made available by the German giants.
Vidal has enjoyed a hugely-successful career since leaving Colo-Colo in his homeland 11 years ago.
The 31-year-old has won the title in each of his last seven seasons at Juve and Bayern.
But a number of recent injury problems are believed to have persuaded the Bundesliga side to seek a more reliable replacement.
SunSport previously reported how the player's nine-year-old son reportedly told followers on social media that his dad will move to either Barca or Inter Milan.
