The Portuguese right-back has established himself as a key component of the Italian giants’ watertight defence and shone in the win over Manchester United on Tuesday.
Cancelo, 24, has been on Barca’s radar since his spell with La Liga rivals Valencia.
But, according to Catalan outlet Sport, his showing in the 1-0 victory at Old Trafford has convinced Nou Camp chiefs to make their move.
Cancelo had Anthony Martial in his back pocket against United and was a constant threat pushing forward down the right flank.
He has notched two assists in his ten appearances this season since joining from Inter Milan for £35million in June, with Juventus racking up six clean sheets in those games.
And Barcelona will have to pay significantly more than that fee to get their man.
Right-back has been a problem area for the La Liga champions since Alves left in 2016.
The now PSG ace won six Spanish titles and three Champions League crowns in eight years with Barca.
And Aleix Vidal and summer-signing Nelson Semedo have both failed to fill the gap he left when he joined Juventus.
While Sergi Roberto has been a dependable stand-in but would be better deployed in midfield.
But Cancelo’s pace and power mean he has been identified as a potential heir to the Brazilian’s throne.
