Arsenal star Granit Xhaka insists Unai Emery has improved him as player despite being bought by Arsene Wenger

The midfielder has been instrumental in Arsenal's stunning run- where they have won nine consecutive matches in all competitions, and has said his good form is down to the new Gunners boss.

Xhaka had not always been able to solidify a place under Arsene Wenger, but in Emery's set up the Swiss international has started every league game.

Speaking to the Mail on Sunday, he said: "We needed some time to get to know the character and philosophy of the new manager. It is going well and I am improving.

"On a tactical level, the manager has really helped me. But we can still improve."

Xhaka and Arsenal return to Premier League action against Leicester at the Emirates on Monday next week.
