ARSENAL have reportedly rebuffed an early January bid for Henrikh Mkhitaryan despite the Roma loanee appearing to have no future at the club.
In four months at the Italian club, Mkhitaryan has become an important member of the squad – hitting three goals in 13 games.
Despite a number of injury issues, in particular a hamstring problem striking throughout October and November, the Lupi want to keep the Armenian past the present campaign.
And their insistence on a permanent deal is also amid him being one of the club's top earners on his current wage.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, an £8.5million offer was launched and quickly rejected by Arsenal.
It is nonetheless said that the Gunners are willing to hear out any future proposals.
Coach Paulo Fonseca reportedly sees him as a useful asset in leading the dressing room and displaying the right attitude to his colleagues.
Mkhitaryan even ticked all the right boxes for the fans with his comments on Roma's rivals Lazio, calling them "the second team of the capital".
