But that was not repeated on the road as a lacklustre display saw them throw away another two-goal lead to draw 2-2 at Olympiakos in their Champions League opener.

CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN was blasted for his “awful” display against Olympiakos.
The wantaway Dane lost possession 22 times in Athens – more than any other player on the pitch.
And after the 2-2 draw, SunSport's William Pugh wrote: “The Dane was a shadow of his former self as his lax attitude on the edge Spurs' box led to the 54th minute penalty that gave the Greeks their deserved equaliser.
“But that was just one of many blots on the wantaway star's copybook in Athens.
“While Jan Vertonghen gave away the pen, the blame falls squarely on the Dane's shoulders.
“In uncharacteristic fashion on the edge of his own box he dawdled on the ball and – not for the only time in the match – allowed Olympiakos to nick it off him.
“Seconds later, Vertonghen had clumsily bundled Valbeuna over and the referee was pointing to the spot.
“Now Eriksen was far from the only sub-par performer for Spurs in their Group B opener but the showing from their talismanic playmaker will concern Mauricio Pochettino the most.
“After seeking the on trend “new challenge” earlier in the summer, it is impossible to imagine the 27-year-old was not disappointed when a move failed to materialise.
“Dream switch to Real Madrid or otherwise.
“And if Eriksen's Hellenic showing is anything to go by, the disappointment is clearly hard to shake.
“But that won't wash with Poch.”

FANS are furious that they will have to wait even longer to see Ryan Sessegnon in action.
The 19-year-old looked like his debut was within touching distance until Tottenham issued an injury update ahead of the clash against Olympiacos.
It read: “Undergoing assessment after reporting irritation with his previous hamstring injury.”
One fan said: “We will never get to see Sessegnon, will we?”
Another added: “Great we are back to injury FC.”

HUGO LLORIS has admitted he is open to a move to the MLS – just days after Inter Miami owner David Beckham watched him in action.
The French stopper, 32, has claimed he is interested in winding down his career in the USA – no doubt putting star-hunting Becks on red alert.
Speaking about a potential move in the coming months, Lloris claimed: “I still have a few years ahead of me. In any case, I will do everything to make the most of it.
“You also have to know when to say stop at the right time, but I'm not against the idea of discovering something new.
“That could be the United States. I do not know, I always had trouble looking in the medium term. I am more focused on the short term.”

MAURICIO POCHETTINO has urged his side to match Olympiacos' “motivation”.
Speaking ahead of the game, he said: “I love to play in this atmosphere. I am Argentino and I love to play like this when the fans are so tough.
“Tactically it will be tough, too. We know how they play, with a Portuguese manager [Pedro Martins] who loves to play good football from the back, moving the ball quickly.
“The key is to match their motivation and try to dominate the game.”
