EXC: MANCHESTER UNITED are set to sit down with Eric Bailey over extending his contract – despite his shocking injury record.
The Ivory Coast defender is out of contract next summer, and will be a free agent once his £120,000-a-week terms expire.
He is out injured until January after picking up a medial knee ligament injury in a pre-season warm-up match.
But United feel the 25-year-old still has a future at the club, and want him to stay and be back-up to Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof.

MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly ready to PAY Marcos Rojo to leave the club as talks have begun to end his £130,000-a-week deal TWO-YEARS early.
The defender has failed to win over Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in pre-season and the signing of Harry Maguire has made him surplus to requirements.
Rojo was braced to make a loan switch to Everton after being told he was free to leave but the move fell through because the deal became too expensive.
According to The Mirror United are now looking to strike an agreement with Rojo this week which will see them shell out a significant chunk of the remaining £13.5m he is due.

REAL MADRID are reportedly set to make a last-ditch attempt to sign Paul Pogba from Manchester United.
The Times claims Zinedine Zidane has not given up hope of bringing the World Cup winner to Spain this summer.
Pogba declared he was ready for a new challenge in July but a bid from Real failed to materialise as United played hardball.
The Frenchman, 27, started in the 4-0 opening day win over Chelsea at Old Trafford earlier this month.

Now Sky Sport journalist Fabrizio Romano has offered a further update by revealing more about the exact terms of the package.
He says Inter have offered to take Sanchez on loan until next summer with an obligation to buy for £13.75million.

ALEXIS SANCHEZ 'turned down' the chance to sign for Roma despite Manchester United agreeing to pay a large part of his wages, according to reports.
The Chilean, 30, has flopped dramatically since signing for the Red Devils last January and the club are keen to get his £505,000-a-week pay off the wage bill.
But according to the Mirror, the forward rejected the chance to revive his career at Roma.
It is thought a loan deal with an option to buy was agreed between United and the Serie A club.
