Our daily round-up brings you all the latest from Old Trafford…

POG SAVES JOSE

PAUL POGBA inspired Manchester United’s sensational fightback against Newcastle after Jose Mourinho consulted him on tactics.

The Old Trafford boss listened to his players in Saturday’s half-time powwow with most of the team voicing their opinions over what was going wrong.

RALLYING THE TROOPS

LUKE SHAW has revealed the rallying cry that was delivered at half time that inspired Manchester United to victory against Newcastle.

The left-back spoke of the strong words that Mourinho used in the dressing room that helped them to turn the game around and come out as a new side in the second half.

SMS SOS

JOSE MOURINHO received a vote of confidence by text from the Manchester United board before their last-gasp win over Newcastle.

The Portuguese boss was reportedly on the verge of losing his job this weekend, but the board instructed him not to read the papers before the game in order to keep his focus.

'NOT MY STYLE'

ZINEDINE ZIDANE won't replace Jose Mourinho at Manchester United, according to his agent, as he doesn't want to manage a team in the Premier League.

The English domestic league doesn't appeal to the former Real Madrid boss who is treating himself to a year out before considering a new job, which all but rules him out of the Old Trafford switch.

NO WAY JOSE

MANCHESTER UNITED boss Jose Mourinho allegedly shouted 'sons of b*****s' into a television camera as his side snatched a late win thanks to Alexis Sanchez's header.

The under fire boss is claimed to have delivered the message in his native tongue, which led to eagle eyed viewers debating the matter on social media.

BETTER THAN FERGIE

JOSE MOURINHO incredibly has a better win percentage than Alex Ferguson as Manchester United boss, as he has triumphed in 60.3 per cent of games during his reign, compared to Fergie's 60.1 per cent.

His winning ratio is the best of all Manchester United managers, following the Red Devils' dramatic 3-2 win over Newcastle which may well give the Portuguese boss a confidence boost.
