- Users can browse other users going to a festival as early as a month before
- Festivals include Sziget in Hungary, Sonar in Spain and All Points East in the UK
- If you don’t see your festival listed, you can explore the ‘Festival Goers’ space which is open to any festival fans
From Glastonbury to Reading, festival season is finally almost upon us.
If you’re single and planning to attend a festival this summer, then Tinder’s latest feature could be just the thing.
The dating app has launched Festival Mode, which allows users to find and match with fellow festivalgoers before the event.
‘Music is a universal language and the number-one interest among Tinder members worldwide. So many of our members are excited to jump back into in-person events,’ explained Kyle Miller, VP of Product Innovation at Tinder.
‘We wanted to build on that excitement and offer them a head start at meeting someone new ahead of one of the biggest festival seasons in years.’

How to use Tinder’s Festival Mode
1. Open the Tinder app
2. Tap on the Explore tab, which is second from the left at the bottom of the screen
3. Tap on Festival Mode
4. Browse to find the festival or music event you’re attending
5. Tap on the event, and browse through other users who are attending
6. If you don’t see your event listed, visit the Festival Goers space, which is open to any festival fans
According to a Tinder survey of 325 singletons, nearly a third plan to attend a music festival or concert this year, while 64 per cent say they enjoy meeting new people at live music events.
Based on this knowledge, Tinder has launched Festival Mode within the Tinder Explore tab today.
Users can select which festivals they plan to attend and will then be able to browse and match other users going as early as a month before the event.
Festivals on the app include Sziget in Hungary, Sonar in Spain and All Points East in the UK (full list below).
Within the Tinder app, users who don’t see their event listed will also be able to explore a ‘Festival Goers’ space, which is open to any festival fans.
‘Festival Mode gives you a chance to get yourself back out there, meet new people, and make friends before you hit the festival grounds,’ Mr Miller added.
‘It’s a great, low-pressure way to make real world connections again.’
Festival Mode is now available to Tinder members globally in Explore.
The launch of Festival Mode comes shortly after Tinder launched a Blind Dates feature.
The tool allows users to enter timed chats with potential matches before seeing their profile or photos.
Tinder hopes the feature will encourage users to focus more on personality than looks when searching for a match.
Users can answer a short series of icebreaker questions and allow Tinder to pair them based on similar responses before they enter a timed chat based around multiple-choice prompts.
For example, prompts will include ‘It’s OK to wear a shirt ____ times without washing it’ and ‘I put ketchup on ____’.
Full profiles are revealed only if both members decide to match after chatting.
