The Full Moon is the last of four Supermoons to grace the sky since February. Traditionally, the fifth Full Moon of the year is known as Flower Moon, the Milk Moon or the Corn Planting Moon. The Full Moon also happens to fall near the middle of Ramadan and comes hot on the heels of the Eta Aqauriid meteor shower.
According to the US space agency NASA, the Supermoon will be bigger and brighter tonight.
Under perfect conditions, Supermoons can be up to 14 percent bigger and 30 percent brighter.
NASA said: “The term ‘Supermoon’ was coined by the astrologer Richard Nolle in 1979 and refers to either a New or Full Moon that occurs within 90 percent of perigee, its closest approach to Earth in a given orbit.
“Under this definition, in a typical year there can be three or four Full Supermoons in a row and – about half-a-year apart – three or four New Supermoons in a row.”

How to watch the Supermoon tonight?
With the coronavirus still sweeping across the globe, you might choose to watch the Supermoon from the comfort of your home.
To help you during the time of the pandemic, there are two live streams you can watch for free online.
At 10.30pm GST (6.30pm UTC) you can join the Virtual Telescope Project on YouTube and here on Express.co.uk.
The stream will be hosted by astrophysicist Gianluca Masi from Italy.
Dr Masi said: “We hope to bring to you, at home, the beauty of the sky, during these hard times we are living all together.”
Alternatively, you can watch last night’s stream hosted on YouTube by the robotic telescope service Slooh.
The stream featured a number of guest astronomers who discussed the science behind the Supermoon spectacle.
Slooh said: “This particular Full Flower Moon occurs when the Moon is closest to Earth in its elliptical orbit, making it a Supermoon.
“Officially, the phenomenon is called a ‘perigee-syzygy Moon’, but we prefer Supermoon.”
