Card game from 90s eerily predicted coronavirus – and shows how it will end

A card game from the 1990s appeared to predict the coronavirus outbreak, according to conspiracy theorists.

The Epidemic card from the board game “Illuminati: New World Order” unleashes untold devastation on players, which some Reddit commentators believe can also be linked the coronavirus crisis.

Posted in the conspiracy sub-Reddit, thakidd said: “So…our favourite card game from 1995 seems to know everything. Play card Epidemic.”

He then included the card, that showed a facemask, gloves and medicine near body bags.

The text for the card read: “Disaster! This is an attack to destroy any place. It does not require an action. Its power is 14.

“This is not an instant attack, other groups can interfere normally.

“If the attack succeeds, the target is devastated. This attack cannot actually destroy the target.”

He posted: “There's a point when coincidence no longer applies and prophetic guesses become more or less planned events. What are your thoughts on how accurate this game is on nearly every major event?

But, others in the sub-Reddit questioned whether the card predicted the coronavirus crisis.

One posted: “Unless I’m missing something, this is just a generic epidemic card. I love this game, but I’m not seeing anything that specifically ties this into COVID-19.”

But, the Epidemic card is not the first from the boardgames to be latched onto by conspiracy theorists.

The game’s Las Vegas card became linked to the city’s infamous 2017 mass shooting that happened during the performance of country music singer Jason Aldean.

On the card, a Joker and Ace can be seen, which is also the exact same pairing the musician has tattooed on his arm.

Obviously, many were quick to rubbish the connection made by the conspiracy theorists.
