An utterly bonkers conspiracy that Beatles frontman John Lennon faked his death and is still alive today has resurfaced on the 39th anniversary of his assassination.
Today marks 39 years since the iconic singer was murdered by Mark David Chapman outside his Manhattan apartment in New York.
But despite the overwhelming proof of his death, there are those online who bizarrely believe the official line of reports are wrong.
One of the biggest pieces of “evidence” is the lookalike Mark Staycer.
Mark undoubtedly bears some pretty impressive similarities to the man himself.
Footage of one of his earlier gigs shows he has the same Liverpudlian accent.

Throw in the trademark glasses and long hair and it’s no wonder he’s managed to make a living pretending to be the singer.
His features even saw him get asked to play Lennon in a 2009 mockumentary of his career, titled Let Him Be.
But some have gone even further – suggesting Mark is actually the singer himself.
The comments section to the video – which has been seen more than 180,000 times – is littered with fans posting their theories.
“This man is John Lennon,” one wrote. “How could he not be him? He even looks like the late John Lennon.
“I guess he didn't really die back in 1980.”

Another commented: “That's John Lennon or I'll go eat a shovel of dirt. There is no way that that man is not John.”
And a third added: “John Lennon alive again.”
Of course, there were those who saw the more distanced themselves form the truly outrageous theory online, saying Mark was simply fortunate to look so similar to Lennon for his job.
