Billionaires offering £100k dog walking job pull ad after surge in applications

Some kids dream of being a footballer or global musician, but the idea of being paid £100,000 to look after a couple of dogs has to be right up there with the greatest jobs of all time.

Consequently, when an American family posted their advertisement for a 'live-in dog nanny', they were absolutely inundated with responses.

Having moved to the UK, the wealthy family utilised Fairfax and Kensington, a high-end international recruitment agency in South Kensington, London, to recruit the perfect candidate.

Posting the vacancy on LinkedIn a fortnight ago, the company expected to get a lot of applications, but after local news outlets reported on it, the number of potential suitors shot through the roof.

In just a matter of days, the figure went from 300 to over 2000.

Speaking to New York Post, Fairfax and Kensington's George Dunn said: "This is the first role we’ve offered of its kind. The salary connected to it is pretty unheard of. Even as a vet, you’d be struggling to earn that amount of money."

The job description explained that the successful applicant would have to provide 'Unparalleled care and attention' to the pair of loveable animals.

This would feature feeding, grooming, and coordinating vet appointments, vaccinations and health checkups.

In addition, the nanny would have to go the extra mile and construct a personalised exercise routine for the dogs to ensure "They receive the appropriate physical and mental stimulation."

Furthermore, the lucky candidate would have the opportunity to travel the globe with the animals to ensure they enjoy they have comfortable and fun journeys.

Interestingly, due to the financial status of the billionaire owners, the dog nanny would have to have "The ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion and confidentiality."

While the breed of the dogs has not been revealed, Dunn told Fox that they were of a larger breed.
