Dave’s wife got in touch with the owner of the house, and once they established that the reptile wasn’t a paying guest, animal control were contacted to evict it.
That took a while because, as the alligator wrangler explained when they eventually turned up, it’s alligator mating season and that leads to a lot of call-outs.
“I guess it’s not that unusual, but it was unusual to me,” Dave said.
It’s not known whether the alligator eventually found a mate that wasn’t made of plastic.
