Eminem delivered a ferocious performance of his new song “Venom” atop the Empire State Building to mark the start of Jimmy Kimmel Live‘s week-long stay in Brooklyn on Monday. In the clip, Eminem spits on the observation deck of the skyscraper as its giant lights flash behind him. The dramatic sequences are interspersed with sprawling aerial shots and footage of fans watching the filming from the street below.
Halfway through the clip, “Venom” cuts out and Eminem shares an awkward elevator ride with Jimmy Kimmel’s sidekick, Guillermo. As muzak drones in the background, the two exchange a bit of small talk with Eminem encouraging Guillermo to check out the exhibit on the 80th floor and sharing a few fun facts about the history of the Empire State Building.
“Venom” appears on Eminem’s latest album, Kamikaze, which he surprise-released in August. The record follows his 2017 effort, Revival.
