TOWIE‘s Megan McKenna has opened up about her split from Love Island‘s ‘Muggy’ Mike Thalassitis.
The pair split earlier this year, and Megan has now told OK! Magazine that she felt like she and Mike had reached a different point in their lives, and that there was nothing to the break-up beyond that.
“We both respect each other and we didn’t want it to get nasty or messy,” she said. “There is only so much you can do in a relationship and when it’s not working you’ve got to take separate routes.”
Wishing Mike “all the luck in the world”, Megan said that Mike isn’t “a nasty person”. “Everything happens for a reason. It wasn’t one of those break-ups like ones I’ve had in the past where it was really bitter and nasty, this was more a decision we made together,” she continued.
Megan went on to say talk about how difficult the break-up has been, particularly as she approaches relationships by giving it her “everything”.
“It’s not exactly been the easiest ride but I feel like I’m a lot stronger than I used to be. It’s just a shame, really,” she continued.
“I’m not going to regret it because I did love him and we had an amazing time together, but it just comes to a point in your life where it doesn’t work and you both have to accept it. We’ve both definitely accepted it.”
