The Prodigy's Gizz Butt cancels Keith Flint Glastonbury tribute set

‘The last thing I want to do is cause upset and create bad karma, especially with people that are the most important people involved, that are grieving and will be for a long time.

‘I will do something for the benefit of mental health but it won’t be seen as capitalising on a tragic situation. It will be something else.

‘Prodigy fans, you know what where I’m coming from with this statement. I’m sorry that I can’t do this.

‘You know I’d like to but I want to respect other people’s emotions and wishes and for this reason I must stand down.’

Gizz, a former live guitarist for the Firestarter hitmakers, was set to perform an hour-long DJ set in the Shangri-La area, which was named the ‘Keith Flint Appreciation Hour’.

Keith tragically died back in March at the age of 49, with it later being confirmed that he died by hanging.

The Prodigy confirmed the news in a statement, which read: ‘It is with deepest shock and sadness that we can confirm the death of our brother and best friend Keith Flint.

‘A true pioneer, innovator and legend. He will be forever missed. We thank you for respecting the privacy of all concerned at this time.’

They later announced they had decided to cancel their upcoming shows, tweeting: ‘Following the tragic death of Keith Flint all forthcoming Prodigy shows will be cancelled with immediate effect. TheProdigyHQ.’
