Paul Young reveals devastation at being burgled by This Morning's Gino D'Acampo

Singer songwriter Paul Young has shared his feelings on the 1998 burglary of his home by Gino D’Acampo.

Although the Italian TV chef was sent to prison for two years following the crime he committed at 21-years-old, Young has expressed a deeper impact than many can recognise.

The musician related back to how precious memories were stolen following the loss of his wife Stacey.

“When Stacey went there were certain bits of music I never got back. Let’s say that – and that hurt me,” he said, per The Mirror.

However, Young isn’t bitter on the subject, noting: “He [Gino] gets enough stick on social networking – he doesn’t need my help as well.”

The 62-year-old has previously revealed that Gino contacted him nine years ago to apologise for the crime, elaborating: “I don’t hold it against him. He said it was bad and he apologised, and I did get most of the stuff back.

“Maybe he needed his wrist slapping and he got that. He said he was in a terrible place at that time and wanted to turn his life around.”

Two years after Gino’s apology, Young reflected on the crime and how he forgave the TV chef ahead of his appearance on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!.

“Gino wanted to apologise. I thought that was nice. Then he went on I’m A Celebrity and I thought, ‘Now I know why!’ He and I should do something stupid like collaborate on a show or a book,” he said.
