Emmerdale star Danny Miller has embarked on a new career which is worlds away from the long-running ITV soap.

The actor, 32, is best known for portraying beloved character Aaron Dingle on and off for more than a decade, officially bowing out of the soap in 2022 after 14 years.

Now, the I'm A Celeb winner announced he is narrating audio books, which happen to be his son's favourite.

The former soap star shares one-year-old Albert with wife Steph Jones, who is currently expecting their second child.

Announcing his new career move on Instagram, he captioned the video: "Please watch the video as it explains the bigger picture behind releasing our very own audiobooks of some of Albert’s Favourite books read by his Dad."

Danny continued: "If you’re lucky enough to be a parent of a child who loves books as much as Albert, this may give you a chance to just sit or lie back with them and let their imagination run free.

"The comments are open for any constructive (key word) criticism.

He went on to say: "We're looking to record more so will always take in the sensible ones and try and adapt as we do the same in this beautiful world of children and growing up."

The news went down incredibly well with fans who rushed to the comments to support Danny on his new venture.

One person wrote: "As a primary school teacher and a specialist in reading reading, I can tell you this is brilliant. Reading to children is one of the very best things a parent can do. You have a super story telling voice."

Caroline Thomas, wife of Danny's good friend and former co-star Adam Thomas, added: "Ahhhh this is amazing congratulations! What a fab idea".

"Just listened to the Gruffalo & it was absolutely brilliant, fantastic idea," agreed a third.

Another echoed: "I work in a nursery setting, and I think this is such an amazing idea, the importance of reading doesn’t get recognised as it should do these days, and the quality time you get with your children goes without saying it’s priceless! I’m very impressed."
