Over the years, Elvis Presley had a number of backing singers, including The Sweet Inspirations. The group who sung with The King, including his Las Vegas residencies, featured Whitney Houston’s mother Cissy. And now another former member Estelle Brown has revealed in a new interview how she believes Elvis is still around as an angel.
Speaking with Spa Guy in Nashville, Tennessee, Estelle spoke of how at first she thought the opposite of Elvis.
The singer who has performed with Van Morrison, Aretha Franklin, Jimi Hendrix and Dusty Springfield said: “He was a Rock and Roll singer and we were gospel singers, so it did not coincide, it didn’t fit. We thought it didn’t fit.
“And then from how we were raised church-wise, that was the devil’s music.
“You couldn’t sing the devil’s music because if you did you were going to hell.”

However, she added: “I’ve learned better than that but we just didn’t think it would work.
“But then when we went to rehearsal with him for the first time, it was just like a marriage.
“It was beautiful and it stayed that way. It’s still that way.”
Estelle spoke of how after Las Vegas shows the backing singers would be invited up to Elvis’ suite where they would sing gospel tunes until seven o’clock in the morning.
She then went on to describe how she believes Elvis is an angel and still with us.
The singer said: “Have you ever seen the movie Touched By An Angel?
“We were all touched by the same angel: Elvis Presley.
“And I believe Elvis was, or is, an angel and he touched people all over the world.”
