Chrissy Metz has given another stunning performance of her single “I’m Standing with You.”
On Friday, the This Is Us star, 38, released her first music video on her YouTube channel, which serves as the visual accompaniment for her track from the film Breakthrough, which Metz also stars in.
In the video, Metz, who stands strong on a stage eclipsed by water, belts out the emotional lyrics to the original song, which was written by 10-time Oscar nominated songwriter Diane Warren.
Later joined by a gospel choir, Metz walks across the stage as scenes from the Roxann Dawson-directed movie interweave, reminding fans to keep faith in life’s darkest moments.
Metz previously blew audiences away with “I’m Standing with You” when she made her singing debut at the ACM Awards earlier this month.
The actress premiered her song and was joined onstage by country stars Carrie Underwood, Lauren Alaina, Mickey Guyton and Maddie & Tae.
The powerhouse ladies are all featured on Breakthrough‘s soundtrack along with songs by Darius Rucker, Adam Hambrick, Jukebox the Ghost, Phil Wickham, Pigeon John, and Taylor Mosby as well as Kirk Franklin and Lecrae.
Breakthrough is based on author Joyce Smith’s real-life story and her 2017 memoir, The Impossible: The Miraculous Story of a Mother’s Faith and Her Child’s Resurrection, about how her son fell through the ice of a Missouri lake and was given a bleak prognosis for survival.
Costarring with Metz are actors Josh Lucas, Topher Grace (BlacKkKlansman) and Mike Colter (Luke Cage).
Breakthrough is in theaters now.
