The K-Pop idol wrote his own solo song titled ‘Tonight’, which is released as part of BTS’ 2019 Festa to celebrate the sixth anniversary of the group’s debut.
AceShowbiz –Jin of BTS a.k.a. Bangtan Boys delights ARMY with the release of his new solo song. Titled “Tonight”, the emotional ballad debuted in full on Tuesday, June 4 through Soundcloud as part of the group’s multi-week sixth anniversary event.
The tender ballad boasts the K-Pop star’s clear, soft vocals over acoustic strings and synth melodies. The singer, whose full name is Kim Seok Jin, sings about the longing and fear that come after spending a night with a loved one and remembering the fond times together.
Though the romantic lyrics undoubtedly will make fans swoon, Jin reveals in an accompanying blog post that he wrote the ballad while thinking of his pets. “Hello, this is Jin. [‘Tonight’] is a song I wrote while thinking about my pets. It’s the first time I’ve written my own song, and I hope you enjoy listening to it,” he wrote, according to a translation. “I’ll work hard while making music next time too so that I can present a good song to you. Thank you, ARMY.”
A known animal lover, Jin has often shared his love of his dog and sugar gliders. He currently has a sugar glider named Gukmul. He previously owned two more of the palm-sized nocturnal possums, Eomuk and Odeng, and opened up about the losses of his pets.
“Tonight” is Jin’s second solo song after he released “Epiphany” in 2018 lifted off the group’s Billboard 200 chart-topping album “Love Yourself: Answer”. The new song has received mainly positive responses from fans, making several hashtags and phrases relating to the release trend worldwide on Twitter.
“Seokjin’s voice is so powerful the way he captivates you and literally takes you to another world it’s magical listening to him is an otherworldly experience,” one commented on the emotional song. “the way jin’s voice in (‘Tonight’) tucked me in and kissed my forehead…,” another raved.
