Big Brother star Josie Gibson has officially introduced her newborn son Reggie-James to the world, and has shared her surprising story of childbirth.
Speaking in this week’s issue of OK! Magazine, Josie revealed that her waters broke at her baby shower at the beginning of September, but she didn’t actually give birth until four days later.
“I was induced for two days and got no sleep, but my contractions just stopped so they gave me a C-section,” she explained, adding that she doesn’t know if she had “a full” contraction.
“I loved the gas and air,” Josie admitted, “I was laughing my head off when they told me I was having a C-section, but when I got in there I started crying.
“I was worried as I’d had a tummy tuck and I didn’t know where they could pull him out from.”
Praising the NHS staff who helped to deliver Reggie-James “amazing”, Josie reflected on the emotional rollercoaster of her first son’s birth.
“Reggie was born 5lbs 1oz and dropped to 4lbs,” the Big Brother winner said. “I was so scared to touch him and crying all the time. I know he was in the best place, but it was so frightening.
“It was the best feeling in the world when we got to leave, [but] the staff were so good. I can’t thank them enough.”
Josie, who won the fan-favourite Big Brother 11 series, announced that she was expecting a baby with her partner Terry back in May.
