Ariana Grande's fiancé Pete Davidson proposed to her on the first day they met

Ariana Grande’s controversial fiancé Pete Davidson asked the singer to marry him the same day they met.

If that’s not eagerness in its purest form, then we don’t know what is.

The Saturday Night Live star was speaking to GQ when he revealed the surprising fact. “The day I met her, I was like, ‘Hey, I’ll marry you tomorrow’,” he said.

“I sent her a picture [of engagement rings]. I was like, ‘Do you like any of these?’ She was like, ‘Those are my favourite ones,’ and I was like, ‘Sick.'”

Although rather untraditional in its execution, this proposal clearly swept the ‘No Tears Left to Cry’ singer off her feet. It’s also being reported that Davidson presented Grande with a $93,000 (£73,000) pear-shaped diamond ring just a few weeks into their relationship.

Unfortunately for the pair, Davidson was in the news recently for a joke he made about the Manchester Arena bomb, which took place at Grande’s concert back in May 2017.

Caught up in the online fallout of this, Grande stood up for her fiancé, sharing on Twitter: “This has been v tough & conflicting on my heart. He uses comedy to help ppl feel better ab how f-ed up things in this world are. We all deal w trauma differently.

“I, of course, didn’t find it funny. It was months ago & his intention wasn’t / is never malicious, but it was unfortunate.”
