Alec Baldwin arrested over alleged parking spot brawl

Alec Baldwin was arrested on Friday (November 2) over an apparent parking spot brawl.

The 30 Rock and Saturday Night Live actor was taken into police custody in New York City after an argument over a parking spot allegedy turned physical on Friday morning, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

A spokesperson for the NYPD told the publication: “It looks like it was a dispute over the parking spot, and the person in custody punched [the other person involved].”

The NYPD spokesperson also indicated that the actor would be charged with assault over the incident. He had been taken to the NYPD’s 6th Precinct station as of Friday afternoon local time to be booked.

Digital Spy has reached out to Baldwin’s representatives for comment.

This arrest certainly makes it seem unlikely that Baldwin will be able to reprise his role as President Donald Trump on this weekend edition of Saturday Night Live.

While it was never confirmed that he would guest star on Saturday night, a cameo on SNL as Trump seemed likely since this is the final episode before the midterm elections in the US next week.

Earlier this year, Baldwin had said that he was anxious to give up his role as Trump on the long-running sketch show because it was “agony” to imitate the politician.

“I could go out on the street, stand on any corner and tap 10 people on the shoulder. And all 10 of them, in all likelihood, would be more qualified – ethically, morally, intellectually and spiritually – than Trump,” he said in March.

“We have to get rid of him. And that’s another project I’m working on. I was the keynote speaker at the Democratic Dinner in Iowa, and I’m gonna go do a couple more of those this year. My wife and I agreed that we’re gonna give it everything we have.”
