Some BTS members love chocolate ice cream, while others just like loads of toppings. In terms of the mint chocolate chip ice cream debate, though, there’s one BTS member who said combining chocolate with “toothpaste flavor” is “sacrilegious,” according to one translation. Here’s what we know about the K-pop idols and their ice cream of choice.
Most of the BTS members like ice cream
The BTS members aren’t afraid to share some of their favorite snacks with fans. J-Hope loves Shake Shack and In-N-Out Burger. Suga and V love Panda Express. RM loves fried chicken and beer as a late night snack. Of course, these performers enjoy an ice cream from time to time.
Even in the “Dynamite” music videos, the members are seen hanging around outside a donut store and an ice cream shop. When it comes to their preferred flavors, though, one of the BTS members doesn’t like mint chocolate chip ice cream. Like, at all.
BTS rapper, RM, shared that he doesn’t like mint chocolate chip ice cream
When it comes to ice cream flavors, one seems to spark debate for K-pop idols. That’s mint chocolate chip, a flavor which the leader of BTS, RM, said he doesn’t like. According to Soompi, RM went so far as to say, “Combining precious chocolate with toothpaste flavor is sacrilegious.”
The youngest member of BTS, Jungkook, is a little different when it comes to ice cream. During one YouTube video, RM and Jungkook ventured off to find some ice cream.
Jungkook loaded up his two scoops with plenty of toppings, including some chocolate sauce, whipped cream, and sprinkles. RM just took a cone to go. When RM said he doesn’t know why people like whipped cream, Jungkook responded, “harmony.”
Jungkook likes mint chocolate chip ice cream
RM isn’t alone in the mint chocolate chip debate. A few of the other members in this K-pop group have, reportedly, expressed their distaste for the ice cream flavor, including Jimin, V, and Jin.
Jungkook and J-Hope, on the other hand, shared that they like mint chocolate chip. For one Bangtan Bomb, Jungkook munches on a few different ice cream treats, telling fans which are his favorite flavors along the way. Mint chocolate chip made the list.
“I like green tea, mint chocolate, [and] red bean popsicle,” Jungkook explained during the video. “You know those fruity flavors? Sweet, tangy and tart, stuff like that? I don’t like them. I like mild flavors.”
The “Dynamite” music video is now available on YouTube. Music by BTS, including their recently released album, Map of the Soul: 7, is available for streaming on Spotify, Apple Music, and most major platforms.
