A woman was left seriously regretting her choice of tattoo artist when she asked for a cute moon and was left with a "toenail" inking.
In a video, Ella Neve McCauley shares her embarrassment after assuming the design was so simple it couldn't possibly go wrong.
The design she wanted was an imitation of one she found on Pinterest tagged as "cute small tattoos for women with meaning" and featured an outline of a crescent moon and a sun.
Unfortunately, Ella's artist must have had quite a shaky hand because her sun looks a bit squashed and the wonky moon looked like something else entirely.
Ella's video was watched more than 200,000 times since she uploaded it on TikTok with the caption: "Look at the shape of the moon I am dead."
"The toenail moon," joked one commentator.
A second baffled person asked: "Did they think you weren’t gonna see it on your back or something?"
''Lesson learned don’t randomly turn up asking for a tattoo,'' a third viewer remarked.
''This is why I’ll wait a year for a spot with my fave artist,'' said another.
In the comments, Ella said she was going to get the tattoo fixed with a cover-up at a different tattoo studio and warned other ink fans to "be careful".
This comes after a mum got her face tattoos covered up in an experiment but was left feeling "vile" and hating her clear-faced look.
Aimee, who wants to be totally covered in ink one day, said: "I was not impressed. I was trying so hard not to cry.
"To some people, it's just being covered in makeup but I was disgusted seeing myself looking like that.
"I know it's a strong word but I felt vile and horrible in myself. I felt so uncomfortable and it was like looking at someone who I didn't know."
