David Attenborough: India's Wild Eden
SBS, 8.30pm
Some of the most amazing things about Karnataka, the subject of this documentary, aren't actually in this documentary. But so many amazing things are in this documentary, I had to do a Google search afterwards to satisfy my curiosity. Made in India by locals but narrated by David Attenborough, Wild Eden is a visually stunning and very family friendly hour showcasing the incredible diversity of wildlife found in this southern state. The area is a rival in diversity to the Amazon, and although The Jungle Book wasn't set here, you'll recognise Baloo, Bagheera, Shere Khan and other favourite characters, all looking glossy and well-fed. Guaranteed to leave you with a smile on your face – and perhaps hitting up Wikipedia for more.

Survivor: Island of the Idols
9Go!, 7.30pm
It's Survivor school! Island of the Idols refers not to that Survivor staple, the immunity idol, but the hero-type idol – two legends of the game. On one of those lush dots with which the waters of Fiji are lavishly supplied, Boston Rob and two-time winner Sandra are camped out, waiting to teach one of the current contestants some kind of crucial Survivor skill. The practical knowledge, such as how to make fire, is fun. Even more fun is the more ephemeral but possibly more important stuff such as how to win friends and influence people. This season's contestants are also pretty high on general likeability (not a given with US Survivor) although, for one of them, learning to be less charming is turning out to be her main challenge.
