Fresh off her stunning performance during the Wicked Halloween special, Ariana Grande took on something much more frightening than Elphaba: A haunted escape room.
For a delightfully hilarious just-aired segment on James Corden’s Late Late Show, Ariana and James decided to journey into an escape room. James said he’d never been in one, and Ariana fancies herself a fanatic, so clearly there’s no way any of this could go wrong, right? Turns out, this room was basically “one of the seven gates to hell,” according to Ariana. LOL, let’s get into it!
If you thought escape rooms were supposed to be bright and a chance to show off your puzzle skills, you’re mistaken. This room was pitch black and filled with random people popping out of beds and climbing up through the floors and plainly just wreaking havoc on James and Ariana’s blood pressures.
Possibly one of the best parts of the video is when a woman dressed like Samara from The Ring surprised Ariana, prompting her to shout, “You’re a bitch!” Classic. And somehow, in the midst of it all, Ariana ends up with a bandage on her hand.
After getting cornered into the final room, James and Grande escape to their car to film a “Carpool Karaoke” bit, and we finally learn the story of how she injured herself while hanging out with James.
