Halloween is nigh, and, with some hard work, a future will more diverse films could be too! Here to do the good work to combine these two interests are Billy Eichner and Tiffany Haddish.
As you know, Billy Eichner has an uber successful YouTube show where he runs up to random people on the street and asks them questions that relate to his guest. This week, he chose comedian Tiffany Haddish to recruit diverse witches for their imagined Hocus Pocus remake aptly titled Wocus Pocus. Since Tiffany is a black woman and Billy is gay, they said they just need one more person to round out their coven. So, as some would say, let the witch hunt begin!
In the course of four quick minutes, Billy and Tiffany find a lesbian Chinese woman who they said is perfect for a “Crazy Witch Asians” saga, a Brazilian woman who has a daughter who works at a nonprofit and does something–we don’t know what exactly– with diversity, and a black woman is “readdyyyy” for inclusivity and magic to take over Hollywood.
The bottom line is: It’s 2018 and Billy and Tiffany aren’t going to whitewash Hocus Pocus, OK!?
