Girlboss founder Sophia Amoruso knows how to keep things spicy when it comes to Christmas gifts.
“My boyfriend [animator Galen Pehrson] loves sauces and there’s a subscription box service called Fuego Box. You get a new hot sauce like every month which seems really fun,” she told Page Six Style last month at the Girlboss Rally in Maspeth, N.Y.
But what Amoruso, 34, really likes to gift are experiences.
“I like to give people massages. I love [in-home massage service] Zeel. I use it every month, I’m a subscriber. It’s an incredible value. You get a massage in your home. They’re amazing therapists that work in really great spas. They bring in a nice big table. Getting a massage in your home is still such a novelty. It’s really nice,” she explained.
And despite asking her mother for a pair of slippers for Christmas, experiences are also what she’s hoping to receive.
“My boyfriend got us pottery classes last Christmas and it was very ‘Ghost.’ We both made some pretty ugly pottery but it was like a cool thing that went and did every Sunday for several weeks. You can’t be on your phone when your hands are covered in clay,” she told us.
“Stuff like that, it’s really small but you’re going out of your way to be thoughtful and to create an experience and a memory. I think memories are so much more valuable than objects.”
