It’s hard to keep a restaurant business afloat these days, and some dining outlets don’t seem to be helping themselves, as these infuriating social media snaps prove.

These photos shared on Reddit reveal the most irritating things cafes and restaurants have done that are certain to drive away customers rather than entice them through the door.

From an all-day breakfast that only lasts until 2pm, to a deceptively small serving of ice cream hidden in a much bigger cup, these photos show off what are perfect examples of how not to run a catering business.

The snaps were all shared in the subreddit forum r/mildlyinfuriating – and they are certain to make your blood boil. 

This restaurant was so desperate to jump on the cookie dough trend when it named its dish that the chef must have forgotten that baked cookie dough is just a cookie

At first glance, this menu seems perfectly normal – but then you realise that the numbers of the sandwiches are not in any particular order and don’t appear to be in any kind of pattern

That’s why you should always read the small print! This cafe advertised an  all-day breakfast – but the small print reveals it ends at 2pm

This restaurant menu says the cake of the day comes with a free coffee at £3.95 which sounds like a great deal – until you realise that you do pay for the coffee because without the drink, the cake is £3.50

This customer was baffled and infuriated when he received this enormous receipt after buying a small blueberry muffin from Starbucks

This cheeky gelateria serves its ice creams in a small cup hidden in a bigger cup so that customers believe they’re getting more ice cream than they really are – which must infuriate them

One diner was outraged when a restaurant decided to douse the top of a burger bun with sauce, making it sticky and soggy to pick up and eat

One Reddit user worked out that this restaurant inflates the suggested tip figures so that customers pay more than they want to. For example, a 15 per cent tip works out at $12.68 instead of $13.40 and a 25 per cent tip works out as $21.12, not $22.32

Try a little harder! This diner was frustrated by the terrible poster at this cafe advertising one of its sandwiches by saying it ‘tastes good’ and calling it ‘regular’ all while featuring a photo of it in front of an outdated basket of fruit, for some reason
