Rascal Flatts announces farewell ‘Life is a Highway’ tour

Life is a highway, and Rascal Flatts wants to ride it one last time.

The country group will mark their 20th anniversary of blessing the broken road with croons by going on one more tour, the band announced Tuesday.

Beginning in Indianapolis this June, Rascal Flatts — which is composed of Gary LeVox, 49, his cousin Jay DeMarcus, 48, and Joe Don Rooney, 44 — will make their way coast to coast across the American stage on a Rascal Flatts “Farewell — Life is A Highway Tour,” ending in Florida in October.

The band said over the years, they’ve been honored to hear that their songs have resonated with fans.

“What greater gift can an artist receive than to be told ‘I got married to “Bless The Broken Road,” ’ or ‘We played “My Wish” at my graduation.’ That ‘“What Hurts The Most” is the song that made me love country music for the first time,’ or ‘“I’m Movin’ On” helped me get sober’ or even that ‘“Changed” made me call my family again after not talking to them for years,’ ” LeVox said in a press release.

Show locations include Buffalo’s Darien Lake Amphitheater on September 5, and Wantagh, NY on September 17. Tickets will be available first as part of the Live Nation Country Megaticket.

For two decades they’ve been here, but next year they’ll be gone — at least from the stage.
