Millie Court’s new ‘dirty blonde’ summer hair colour is making her want to go even darker

It seems like only yesterday that Millie Court was on our screens and in the Love Island villa, but it's actually been two years. If you've not been keeping up with the 2021 winner and her post-villa happenings, Millie looks a little different these days – and it's largely thanks to a hair change.

When she was on the ITV2, Millie wore her hair in a sharp platinum blonde bob. Now, she's gone to the dark side with a "dirty blonde" hair colour that complements her summer tan perfectly.

Though Millie, 26, has been gradually transitioning away from a full head of bleach since April, her darker colour is very evident in new snaps posted from her exotic Mykonos getaway.

"I’m kinda loving the dirty blonde, who thinks I should go darker?" Millie asks in the caption of a newly-posted Instagram grid snap.

Love Island fans have been keen to give their verdicts in the comment section, with one urging: "This hair colour and length must stay forever thank you".

"Absolutely living for your darker hair era," says a second, while a third writes: "This colour but a bob length would be unreal on you".

Millie's current colour is a perfect 'bronde shade' which combines caramel-coloured highlights with brighter front sections and darker roots. More specifically, hair experts call this hair colour a 'melted pecan' blonde or bronde.

"If you’re a brunette looking to transition to a brighter shade for summer, this colour allows you to keep some of your base shade," explains Georgina Hamilton-Hopkins, colour director at Hadley Yates salon. "This trend has evolved from the 'bronde' look where the blonde is kept or added through the ends of the hair and around the face. Since this blonde has an ashy, mahogany tinge, it’s a great choice for those who want a warm shade that won’t pull through brassy.”

We'll be anxiously awaiting updates from Millie on whether or not she decides to embrace a brunette colour!
