Several McDonald’s items are being axed in UK restaurants this week in a winter menu shake-up – and the loss of one item in particular has upset fans.

From tomorrow (November 22), nine items will be scrapped from the menu, after several new additions were welcomed in October.

One such victim of the cut is the Philly Cheese Stack burger, which is made up of two beef patties, cheese sauce, onions and pickles.

Introduced as part of McDonald’s Halloween range earlier this year, fans couldn’t get enough of the product – despite the fact it was always advertised as limited edition.

Eight other items have also been scrapped – but it’s not all bad news for McDonald’s fans, as the winter menu will see new products introduced as well.

Users of social media platform X, formerly Twitter, were so attached to the burger that they hailed it the best ever to be sold in McDonald’s – and many were frustrated they couldn’t enjoy it anymore.

‘I don’t condone eating McDonald’s, but God that Philly Cheese Stack is annoyingly good,’ one tweeted.

Another account pleaded the fast food chain to make the burger a permanent addition to their menu: ‘Dear McDonald’s, please if I ask one thing can the Philly Cheese Stack stay forever?’

So keen to make her dreams become a reality, she was ready to give up the McPlant or another item in order to create space for the popular burger.

Another user said: ‘I URGE you to try that Philly Cheese Stack burger from McDonald’s’ – before it was taken off the menu.

She was so impressed with the burger, which retails for £5.79, that she described it as ‘the best burger I’ve had in a long time’, and claimed: ‘You’d never know it was from McDonald’s’.

A different user also expressed their dismay at the news that the burger was a temporary item, admitting: ‘I’m going to be so sad when Mcdonald’s get rid of the Philly Cheese Stack.

And another even praised the chain’s mascot for his efforts: ‘The Philly Cheese Stack from McDonald’s is top draw. Top work Ronald’.

Several McDonald’s items are being axed this week and Twitter users aren’t too happy about one particular item leaving the menu – and are even calling for it to become a permanent edition

While fans are gutted that the Philly Cheese Stack will no longer be available for purchase, it’s not the only item exiting menus on from Wednesday.

The McCrispy BBQ Smokehouse, Chilli Cheese Bites, Twix Toffee Apple McFlurry, Toffee Apple Pie and Nine-piece Chicken McNuggets, The Chilli Cheese Bites Sharebox, M&M’s Halloween McFlurry and Toffee Apple Donut will also be scapped.

McDonald’s, which tends to release limited-edition items around festive times of year like Halloween and Christmas, tends to stock limited-edition items for only six weeks.

However, where the Philly Cheese Stack burger is leaving menus, McDonald’s lovers can enjoy new and different items from tomorrow instead, including:

  • The Big & Cheesy £5.49
  • The Big & Cheesy with Bacon £6.29
  • Chicken Big Mac £4.79
  • McDonald’s Chicken Combo £14.99
