Man fighting for his life after being found with stab wounds to his stomach

A man is in critical condition after he was found with stab wounds to his stomach in south London.

The man, believed to be in his 30s, was rushed to hospital after police and paramedics, including London’s Air Ambulance, were scrambled to the scene.

He was taken to an east London hospital in a critical condition.

Police confirmed they were called at around 5.54am to reports that a man had been stabbed.

A crime scene is in place and no arrests have been made at this time.

A Met Police spokesman said: "Police are dealing with a stabbing in Greenwich.

"Officers were called at 05:54am on Wednesday, 2 January to Corelli Road, Blackheath, SE3."

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 5.52am today to Corelli Road, Greenwich to reports of an incident.

“We sent an incident response officer, a single responder in a car and an ambulance crew to the scene. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.

“We treated a man at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre as a priority by road."
