‘Magic? More like TRAGIC!’ Illusionist’s attempt to make his glasses ‘levitate’ on GMB is mocked by viewers who spot the attached string – and say ‘Paul Daniels would be turning in his grave’

A magician’s attempt to make his glasses ‘levitate’ on Good Morning Britain has been mocked online by viewers.
Magician and Instagram star Julius Dein, 24, from London, impressed presenter Kate Garraway as he appeared to make his spectacles briefly hover above the table while he held his hand above them.
But eagle-eyed viewers were quick to spot the piece of string attached to his glasses being used to lift them from the surface.
They immediately took to Twitter to mock the failed trick, with one joking: ‘Paul Daniels would be turning in his grave.’

Dein, whose videos on Instagram rack up millions of views and who counts Drake among his fans, was asked to perform a trick on Wednesday’s show.
Kate checked out his glasses beforehand to make sure he wasn’t hiding anything before handing them back to him.

He then enlisted Kate’s help by asking her to wave her hand over his to get the glasses to levitate.
The glasses quickly lifted into the air which wowed Kate, who said: ‘What? How did you do that?’
Viewers took to Twitter (pictured) to say the trick was fake as a black piece of string was clearly visible
But spied the string, which appeared to be attached to Dein’s finger to allow him to lift the glasses.
One tweeted: ‘Lesson one: don’t use black cotton string with a pink background Paul Daniels will be turning in his grave at that rubbish trick.’
‘#String worst display of a trick I’ve ever seen live on TV,’ another posted.
A third wrote: ‘You could clearly see the cotton around his thumb when he moved the glasses. This man is no Dynamo.’

‘Come on guys… You could see the strings,’ a fourth said.
Dein told FEMAIL: ‘I had to have the string as backup in case my superpowers were off this morning.’
Last month Dein went viral when he pulled a more successful trick on Drake.
He had caught the rapper’s attention on his Instagram account and was invited to attend the launch part of Drake’s new album Scorpion.

While eating a lollipop, Dein asked Drake what his favourite superhero was and he revealed it was Batman.
Dein then pulled the lolly out of his mouth which was now shaped like Batman’s head.
Drake was visibly shocked, saying: “What the f***?!”
Dein uploaded a video of the moment to Instagram, captioning the post: ‘Blowing Drakes mind! @champagnepapi.’
It quickly went viral and received over six million views and 7,000 comments.
