John Mellencamp sings “Jack and Diane,” “Hurts So Good” and his fiancée’s praises.
The musician spoke about his love life with NBC News’ Harry Smith, in a “Today” show interview that aired Thursday.
“I’m engaged, at 67, to a very funny woman. Funniest woman I ever met,” shared the 2018 Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee.
Mellencamp was tight-lipped when Smith asked about the couple’s on-and-hoff history.
“I don’t know what you mean,” he said, chuckling as he deflected. “I really don’t know what you’re taking about, Harry.”
On a more serious note, the singer admitted: “One can well imagine, I’m probably not the easiest guy to get along with. Let’s leave it at that.”
